First a couple of congratulations: to all the club members racing the Chilly Duathlon last week with a special call out to Neil Dighton for winning the male vet category and coming 11th overall in a very competitive field including former elites and ITU world champs medal winners. Second to the amazing Rebecca Duxbury for selection into the Zwift Academy – new bike and kit and Kona flights all included in the sponsorship package! I know us lesser mortals look at the feats of the top Club performers in complete awe but it really does put the Club on the map both nationally and internationally. We are all so proud!
Back to more mundane matters, we only got the authorisation to hold open water swimming sessions very late on Friday and so we could not have our hoped for session this weekend. However we are now all good for next weekend – the water temp was only just at or around the minimum legal limit but with a few more sunny days it should rise a bit more. Bring a thermos of hot chocolate and plenty of warm clothes and please be aware that the water in this early season is still very cold.
As members know we’ve been trying out HIITs sessions on Tuesday morning and Wednesday evenings. Please keep trying these great sessions out and give us more feedback of what more (or less!) you’d like us to be providing. It’s really been great to see Club members meeting up and doing the in person sessions like Track together. Starting to feel a bit more like normal although there’s more cars on the road now so be careful out there.
