Based in the heart of Oxfordshire, Oxford Tri is a friendly triathlon club with a healthy membership of serious and not-so-serious triathletes. Our membership covers the full range of triathlon experience from novices to members who have represented Great Britain in both European and World Championship competition.
Training sessions are a big part of the club and our weekly coached sessions include pool swims, track run sessions and winter turbo training. Social club runs and cycle rides run throughout the year, and the summer months include open water swimming – perfect for swimmers new to open water.
As well as our own pool-based sprint triathlon from Radley College, which is perfect for beginners, we have our own duathlon series throughout the race season (Bike and Run Time Trial – BaRTT) and a club championships series of local and popular races, with a points system designed to give everyone a chance.
Throughout the year, we put on special masterclasses on various topics, such as nutrition talks, bike mechanics classes, goal setting seminars and many other tri related subjects.
Training aside, we have regular social events throughout the year, typically including post-race barbecues, fancy-dress Christmas BaRTT and of course, an opportunity to ditch the lycra for our annual end of season awards dinner dance.
With such an active membership, you’ll always find one of us in the pool, spinning up the hills throughout Oxfordshire or running the local road or trails. Have a look at the Events calendar to see everything that’s going on in the club at the moment.
