Weekly Update 20 May 2022

Hi Everyone

Another weekend, and another epic group of Club athletes racing abroad, this time at IM Lanzarote. Very best of luck to all our competitors!

Looking forward to the winter X Country racing season, the Oxfordshire Cross Country League is looking at new ways of funding its 5 races per year with a per athlete fee in the region of £20-25 (in addition to the EA membership fee). In general terms whilst any increases are obviously unwelcome, the committee feels that this is a necessary step in order to make the OCCL sustainable. As a valued part of the Club calendar and excellent off season training we hope that members will understand the reasoning and continue to support the League going forwards.

Finally, the Saturday morning open water swimming is proving successful and very popular, there are still plenty of spaces available for tomorrow morning and the safety booking is now open in advance for the next few weeks so feel free to book in (and feel smug at volunteering to support your fellow members).

Have a great week!
