Weekly Update 29 May 2022

Hi Everyone

Happy Sunday everyone!

As I write our weekend warriors at Blenheim tri will be packing up their bags and looking forward to one or three refreshing recovery beverages. Well done to everyone who’s been competing this weekend, especially if this was your first event. Be warned though, triathlon can be highly addictive … but luckily your Club with its wonderful community of coaches and enthusiastic fellow members are here to satisfy your cravings with lots of helpful advice, club sessions and potential training buddies!

Looking forward to the summer season we are going to stop some of the pool sessions which are now looking rather thinly attended, but look out for further open water sessions at Queenford on Tuesday evenings to complement our Saturday mornings. These sessions have proved very successful and popular with members, and a great chance to meet old and new members over a coffee afterwards. Remember also that in order to run these sessions we need volunteers to provide safety cover. Thanks to Paul and Sarah for doing volunteer duty yesterday – I think they can both confirm that it’s an enjoyable way to spend an hour and so I would encourage everyone to try it out, no special skills or training required.

It’s a fairly quiet week ahead of the Jubilee double Bank Holiday, and I know many folks are taking the opportunity to take some holiday. For many other club members I know that final training and prep for 113 awaits …!

Have a great week!
