Newbury Duathlon, Blenheim Tri, Food Study – Oxford Tri Newsletter

Good Evening Oxford Tri Family,

I hope that this finds you well and that you have managed to stay dry amidst the showers of this week. I have loved this week getting round all of the swim sessions and seeing many new faces. It’s great to see the majority of these sessions at capacity and people having a great time training together.

On Monday we will be meeting as a committee to discuss a number of things with regards to the club. If there’s anything that you would like to share with us please don’t hesitate to drop me a little message.

I hope that you all have a great weekend.

God Bless

Craig

Newbury Duathlon

A final call for the 2nd event of our Oxford Tri Club champs is the Newbury Duathlon which is taking place on the 16th of April. It is an amazing race which I took part in with a number of Oxford Tri representatives last year. There is a great number of Oxford Tri members signed up to take part already why not come and join us. If transport is an issue please do let me know 100% we will be able to sort you out.

The entry fee is incredible value so if you can do sign up here.

We will also be having a pub lunch afterwards at the Fox at Peasemore , which was incredibly successful last year, the food is amazing! If you would like to join us please email me at – chair@oxfordtri.co.uk . I will also be putting up a Facebook post over the weekend for it.

Blenheim Triathlon Weekend Volunteering

The organisers of Blenheim Triathlon which takes place over the 3rd-4th of June have reached out to ask us if we would be interested in volunteering with them over the weekend. For those who how have read our club strategy which featured in our newsletter last week partnering with others is something we are seeking to do more of. Although not yet finalised yet there will be ongoing benefits for both the club and those who volunteer over the course of the weekend. In the discussions we have talked about possibly having the club exclusively manning key areas of the event over the weekend so that we can volunteer together as a club family.

If you would like to be part of this amazing experience then please follow the link below to give us a better idea of how many people we might be able to help out over the weekend. This is not an 100% I’m in, just a way for us to guage interest. Also all expenses relating to travel will be covered.

Triathlon Research

I’ve had Dr Jemma Sedgmond reach out to me who is a member of Cardiff Triathletes and researcher at UWE Bristol. She is recruiting triathletes to take part in an online study looking at eating and training habits of triathletes. The link to the study is here which will provide more information too.
