Happy Easter – Oxford Tri Newsletter

Good Evening Oxford Tri Family,

I hope that this finds you all well and that you are looking forward to this Easter Weekend. As a Christian this is a special time of year for me. One where I often spend time reflecting on the past year, which often results in becoming re-energised and motivated to make the most of the opportunities which I feel very fortunate to have. Thank you for being part of those opportunities and for being part of this amazing club, I am excited for what is yet to come.

Finally a little reminder that there are no swim sessions tonight at Kidlington or on Monday at Abingdon.

God Bless

Craig

Newbury Duathlon

With entries still open a final, final call for the 2nd event of our Oxford Tri Club champs is the Newbury Duathlon which is taking place on the 16th of April. It is an amazing race which I took part in with a number of Oxford Tri representatives last year. There is a minimum of 12 Oxford Tri members signed up to take part already, why not come and join us? If transport is an issue, please do let me know 100% we will be able to sort you out.

The entry fee is incredible value so if you can do sign up here.

Also there will be a little change to the venue for the pub lunch the Fox at Peasemore is fully booked so I’m currently ringing round trying to find an alternative option. If you would still like to join us for lunch please email me at – chair@oxfordtri.co.uk  or check out the facebook post. I hope to have the new venue confirmed by tomorrow.

Blenheim Triathlon Weekend Volunteering

With the full support of the committee, we are pleased to announce that we are once again back partnering with Blenheim Triathlon. As teased in last week’s email we are looking to help support this great event and all the hard work of those who have trained for it. As a result we are asking you our club family to consider if you would be willing to volunteer at some point over the weekend of the 3rd-4th

If you feel like you would be able to give back to not just the club but wider sport of triathlon please follow the link below to give us a better idea of how many people we might be able to help out over the weekend. All expenses relating to travel will be covered and the club will benefit from having a number of free entries to next years event which will be offered first to those that help this year.

Member of the Month

I am delighted to share that the member of the month for March is none other than Alex Gandon. For those on the Facebook group or those regulars at Seans Friday morning S&C you may have seen that a number of our members were out in Tenerife a few weeks back. This was initiated and arranged by Alex who put in a huge amount of work to make this happen. I have heard so many good things from a number of different people about the trip so much so that we are looking to having an official pre-season training camp as an official club event, watch this space! If you see Alex at our sessions in the next few weeks do be sure to say hello and thanks for being such an awesome part of the Oxford Tri family. Thanks Alex!
