I think it’s only fitting, as tonight is our last Wednesday swim to feature the sun going down from last weeks swim, what an incredible summer it has been!! Unprecedented temperatures, so much joy to be had at the open water swims this season. I truly hope you’ve enjoyed it immensely, I know I have!
AGM Notice
OK this is formal notice of our OxfordTri Club AGM which will be held at 7pm on Tuesday 7th October on Zoom.
Please do try to be there to help shape the future of the club and please do consider putting yourself forward for a role on the committee for 2026.
Nearly the whole committee is standing down and not nominating themselves for re-election next year, note ALL roles are available for you to nominate yourself, irrespective of someone stating their intention to continue in role.
So just to reiterate, you can nominate yourself for ANY role, you need to be seconded by another member to make it onto the vote ballot.
These are the roles we know the existing committee member is not standing for re-election in 2026. I’ve included the name of the person doing it now so you can talk to them potentially about what’s involved.
Chair – Sean Nicolle – (I covered this on an interim basis this year, I intend to re-stand for Lead Coach but don’t believe it’s in the clubs best interest for me to double hat again).
Club Secretary – Liz Merrett, stepping down from committee
Membership Officer – Liz Merrett, stepping down from committee
Kit Officer – Lee Merrett, stepping down from Committee
Social Media officer – Paris Fawcett, stepping down from this role may stay on committee in a different capacity
Social Secretary – Jack Clark, stepping down from role
Treasurer – Eleanor Cameron, looking to step down will do thorough handover.
Website Officer – Lee Watson, standing back from website during 2026 will do thorough handover, including set up of Spond.
These are the key roles where will definitely have a gap, there are some other, general/assistant roles where existing members will stand again for election, but as discussed if you have a specific skill set don’t hesitate to nominate yourself for any role in our constitution.
