Weekly Update 24 December 2021

Hi Everyone,

I know there’s a lot of very competitive types in the Club, and so if like Sebastian Coe or Daley Thompson you’re training twice as hard on Christmas Day in order to get an edge over the rest of us, well good luck and be safe!

For everyone else, remember Christmas week is more like an Ironman than a Sprint race so don’t neglect your hydration and nutrition strategies, and above all get the pacing right …

Many thanks to Craig for another amazing quiz last weekend, and congratulations to our virtual cycling team for another dominant performance over local rivals Swindon and Leighton Buzzard tri clubs with seven of the top ten places.

There’s no formal training in the next week but the weather is looking mild and pretty favourable for those attempting the annual ritual of the Festival 500 – good luck to all of you!

Finally, I believe the key to successful progress and performance is balance, so have a great Christmas break with family and friends and come back refreshed and rested for a positive start to the New Year.

Any questions, as ever just ping me.
