Weekly Update 19 March 2022

Hi Everyone

There’s a definite feel of spring in the air this weekend, with another lovely day forecast for Sunday – time to dust off the bib shorts and suncream!

And the racing season has already started for some Club members, well done to the Anderburys in the Lanzarote 70.3 putting down an early challenge for this year’s awards for male and female athlete of the year. Especial kudos to Rebecca for 8th overall, fastest non-pro and not so far off Kona winner Anne Haug and Tokyo Olympic gold medallist Jess Learmonth – extraordinary (and just a little bit terrifying!).

Tomorrow sees the Oxonian 36 mile Time Trial in Charlbury – good luck to all the Club participants, looking forward to some reports back to encourage others as this really is excellent training for triathlon racing (and also really good fun). Heads up that next week’s TT is Brill – local and excellent for pacing hills I suspect!

If you’re not time trialling then there’s no excuses for joining in the Club rides tomorrow morning – Katie is taking out a steady 3 hour ride. Meet as usual Oxsrad 9:15 with spares, fuel and plenty of water.

Have a great week!
